ivipQ Headphone and Headphone Cable Maintenance Guide

Proper maintenance will make your headphones last longer and have better sound quality.

I. Plugging, Unplugging and Interface Protection

1. Correct plugging and unplugging operations

Plug protectionAvoid frequent plugging and unplugging. Hold the root of the plug and operate vertically; do not pull the cable.

Interface hardeningThe connection between the plug and the cable is only secured by rubber. Avoid hanging heavy objects or bending it during use.

2. Maintenance of Gold Plating Layer

For example, if poor contact is caused by plug oxidation, you can gently wipe the metal part with an eraser to remove the oxide layer.

II. Daily Maintenance Manual

Winding method

Use the "figure-eight winding method" or a wire winder/storage box to avoid internal cable breakage caused by acute-angle folding.

Taboo Items

Do not entangle into a ball, expose to high temperature/humid environments, or store with sharp objects.

Winter maintenance

Low temperatures make the cables brittle. Let them sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before use, and avoid bending them outdoors.

Sports scene

Sweat accelerates cable corrosion; wipe it promptly after exercise.

III. Headphone body maintenance

1. Diaphragm Protection (Core Component)

The process of burning-in:

  • 0-10 hours: Light music (volume ≤ 25%)
  • 10-60 hours: Pop music (volume ≤ 35%)
  • 60-200 hours: Normal use, avoid large dynamic rock music

Volume Warning:Long-term use of volume exceeding 60% can cause the diaphragm to deform and damage the low-frequency response.

2. Cleaning and Dust Prevention

Sound outlet grille:Dip a cotton swab in a small amount of alcohol (concentration < 70%), wipe gently, and use it after it has completely evaporated.

Earplugs/Earmuffs:

  • Silicone earplugs: Disinfect with alcohol wipes and replace monthly to prevent bacterial growth.
  • Cloth earmuffs: Wipe with neutral detergent + water, air-dry in a cool place, and avoid direct sunlight.

Ventilation hole maintenance:Do not remove the sound insulation cotton to prevent dust from entering the magnet system.

IV. Special maintenance of wires

1. Cleaning and Maintenance

Daily wiping:Clean the sweat stains on the surface with a dry soft cloth (must be done after exercise)

Deep stains:Gently wipe with toothpaste and a soft cloth, or wipe with soapy water (diluted in warm water) and then dry thoroughly.

Taboo:Do not use solvents such as alcohol, white vinegar, and nail polish remover, as they will accelerate the aging and hardening of the wires.

2. Handle according to material classification

Silicone wire:Clean with warm water and a neutral detergent, and avoid high temperatures and direct sunlight.

Leather wire:Maintain with a dedicated care agent; do not wash with water.

V. Healthy and Safe Use

1. Wearing comfort

Duration control:Follow the "60-60 principle" (volume ≤ 60%, single use ≤ 60 minutes)

Earplug matching:Choose earplugs that fit the size of your ear canal to avoid a feeling of pressure.

2. Avoid environmental risks

Temperature and humidity:Keep away from high-temperature environments above 40℃ and humid environments (such as bathrooms). Moisture on the diaphragm can easily cause sound distortion.

Magnetic field interference:Strong magnetic fields (microwaves, magnets) can weaken the magnetism of speakers and reduce their sensitivity.

Sleep taboos:Turning over and squeezing may damage the outer shell or internal coils.

VI. Storage and seasonal maintenance

1. Standard storage

Store tools:Hard storage box + silica gel desiccant (needs to be replaced regularly in humid southern regions)

Wire processing:Loose winding preserves the natural curvature and avoids extrusion deformation.

2. Responding to extreme weather

Winter:The wire becomes brittle at low temperatures; leave it at room temperature for 30 minutes before use.

rainy season:Put moisture-proof packs in the storage box to prevent metal parts from oxidizing.

VII. Simple Maintenance and Professional Services

1. Common Fault Handling

poor contact:Wipe the metal part of the plug with an eraser

Wire breakage:For example, at the plug, you can cut it off and re-solder it (distinguish the four wire cores: L/R channels + ground wire + microphone).

2. Maintenance

Please contact after-sales service first during the warranty period. (Such as damaged diaphragm, unit failure) Professional repair is required. Unauthorized disassembly will void the warranty.
